Summer Spirit Clinics!

Fairfax Days Summer Spirit Clinic!  What a night of teaching!  Meeting some new kids and seeing some familar faces is one of the best parts of the Spirits Dance Clinics.  Here are a few shots below!

Saturday, June 27th was the Freedom Festival Parade in downtown Cedar Rapids!  We again were with our favorite people…The Great Jones County Fair!

This photo was taken from inside the Spirit Van.  the music was loud, the professional team was dancing, and the kids were clapping!  What a great way to start our day!  That evening was the “Fairfax Days” Performance and we were ready to put on a show!

THE PERFOMANCE IN FAIRFAX WAS OUTSTANDING!  THE FIREWORKS WERE UNBELIEVABLE!

Parades, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, & Parties!

The CR Spirits Professional Dance Team & Studio in the Hog Wild Days Parade with Jones County Fair!

 

What wonderful weather!

In our studio we have the Hiawatha Princess and Queen.  They could not attend the parade with us but were in their float and thinking of us in Spirit!  Congratulations Girls!

Who was at the Cedar Rapids Kernels Baseball Game?  The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders! It was a very HOT & Humid night!

What a night to remember!  The photo below is me with the coach of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders!  Did you know I started the CR Spirits with the idea of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders in mind.

Who is getting married?

Congratulations to one of the members on the Professional Dance Team…Carla Krumbholz!  Carla and Jason were married June 5th 2009!  I at this time I don’t have a wedding photo but I do have a few shots from her shower!  Best of luck to the two of you!

A Little Spirit News!

The Spirits have had an exciting June so far!  Here is a little information on some of the events the CR Spirits have been at!

Tiffany in Tulsa, OK with the 2008 Miss Oklahoma Winners!  Just finishing up with interviews and these outgoing girls came in to say hi!  They are getting ready to crown the 2009 winners!  I will never forget them.  What a great bunch of girls!

Another 2008 winner who was extremely kind and polite, Kambra Potter.  To top it off we both thought we knew each other.  After talking a bit, we learned there is no way, I don’t think we will ever forget one another.  I wish you the best and it maybe hard to say good-bye as the former Miss Oklahoma Queen, but it will be wonderful to see what lies ahead for you!

Below are the overall judges.  I loved meeting each and everyone of them.  A professional and talented group of people.  And I hope our paths cross again in the future!  Donna, Dakota, Kim, Ed, and Randi an unforgettable weekend.  By the way loved the make-up Kim Grayson! Below is our 2009 3rd runner up.  What was extremely unique about this girl was during her interview I asked who her role model is?   After stating her mother, I asked if there was a celebrity she looked up to.  Her response was not knowing if he was a celebrity, but she looked up to him very much…it was Kurt Warner…her eyes lit up when I stated I knew him.  He played football with my brother and he actually has another brother named Matt.  She did everything she could to keep her composure, but that smile couldn’t go away.  How ironic to have a judge know one of your role models personally!  Good Luck to you!

Before I left on my trip to Tulsa, OK we had a video shoot for the documentary!  It took place in front of the UNDERGROUND!  Scott Takes thank you so much for your time and support.  It is great to see you again and I can’t thank you enough!

What a NIGHT!

Just finishing up with the North Liberty Parade.  Even though it rained we enjoyed meeting everyone!  We have never been in that parade, we will be back next year!  The studio was perfoming the same time we were in the parade at the Relay for Life.  Thank you to my parents who stuck it out in the rain and all.  A down pour of rain but our Spirits were still high!  Later that night dinner, we were pretty wet!

Cedar Rapids RollerDerby Roller Girls!  Thank you Amber for having us.  The music was loud, the crowd was great, and Cedar Rapids won!  It can’t get any better than that!
