Professional Dance Team’s Dedication

There is so much dedication involved with being a CR Spirits Professional Dance Team member.  First, you have to be able to practice every Wednesday evening from 6:30-9:30pm.  The practices can be long and tiring.  Some practice nights you don’t even have the desire to walk in the door, but once you get through that 1st routine of the night, you are so glad to be there.  The laughter, the smiles, the confidence you get with being around such a group of positive women is empowering.

Second, there is a strict code of ethics that each team member follows to keep this Professional Dance Team an elite group.  You have to have the desire to perform, an attractive look, a smile to die for, and a compassionate heart.  That mix is what makes this volunteer dance team stand above the rest.  Some of these women have been with me for almost 12 years.  These women are all remarkable and it takes all of them to make this work.  They say I have helped create the woman they are today but what they don’t realize it has been a privilege to meet each one of them.  I have helped create wonderful memories for them but they have given me so much more…They are a gift and together we make a perfect team!

This year’s team has leaned more dance routines in just 5 weeks than any other group.  Wednesday, December 2nd will be our 10th practice.  Granted the first 4 practices we were still picking our team.  We also have had the flu in our group and two of the women have had surgery already this season but I am proud to say, in just a few practices the CR Spirits Professional Dance Team has a high energy, crowd pleasing 10 minute show!

Just think the season is just beginning and there is so much more to come. I can’t wait for you to see us perform this season and I can’t wait for California!

Spirit Wear! Get Your Orders In!

It’s time to order everyone!  Please have your merchandise orders into the studio  by Tuesday, November 24th!  They make great Christmas presents & mom’s don’t forget you need something too.  We have so much to choose from.  There are shorts, Capri’s, sweatpants, zip hoods, t-shirts, sweatshirts, coats & so much more.

We have some “New” things happening in the Spirit Studio.  First of all I would like to Thank the parents/guardians that attended the yearly studio guidelines meeting.  The photo below is one of our Junior classes.  There were a total of 10 meetings.

Please let us know if you have any questions.  Here is an outline of the meeting that took place.

*2009-2010 Studio Guidelines were handed out.

*Guidelines handed back in before our Studio Christmas Break receives $10 off.

*Fall newsletter was given (only receiving 2 to 3 Newsletters a season).

*New for this season, $10 off coupon if someone you referred signs up.

*Please visit the website for updates/performance schedules.

*If you have a performance you want the Studio or Professional Team at, please let us know.  If staff is available and the date is open we are ready to go!

*Studio Closed for weather related issues, we follow the Cedar Rapids School System.

*Need a “New” Shirt; Orders for Christmas will need to be in the week after Thanksgiving.

*Next uniform order will be placed- January 15th.

*Registration Fee went up $5.

*Photos in March or April—-No guarantee we will have uniforms but will try.

*Rules about being late to performances.
