Well we must say our 1st fundraiser has been a success so far!  Lori Skoff was a fun, energetic, easy going host!  We actually met her at the Cedar Rapids Kernels Baseball Game after a performance on ladies night.  She was awesome at selling her product!

Practice, Interviews, Pampered Chef all on a Wednesday!

It’s a Wednesday night.  Another set of interviews.  The dance room does not look like a dance room!

What is the Professional Team thinking?  What is going through their mind?  I have a feeling it is;

What is Kevin going to ask?  Do I look okay?  Will I sound funny?  What if I say something stupid?  I always know what to say after the interview.  Those are some of the teams thoughts.

Michelle is ready to go!  She is nervous, but believes in herself, trusts Kevin, respects Tiffany, and knows that this opportunity is fun and has added so much to the Professional Teams Spirit!

Tiffany’s interview was not on this night, she was just filling in for Kevin to check his lighting.  She was not aware that she was being taped and if you go to the documentary website you can see a little fun shot of Tiffany playing around.  Everyone I know that has seen that footage, loves it!

YOUR INVITED!

On Wednesday, January 27th @ 7:00pm.  Please stop in at the studio for the Professional Teams First Fundraiser!  It is a Pampered Chef Party!  You can visit with the team, see a little bit of how practice is ran, have some snacks, and get some GREAT items for your kitchen!

The Professional Team is going to try to do 1 fundraiser a month.  They are raising money to go to California this summer!

What are they looking at?

It’s a Saturday night, at Michelle’s apartment, having some snacks and drinks, enjoying each others company.  Now, what is Tiffany, Paulette, Deatra, & Michelle looking at?

They look pretty intense.  Just a few minutes before this they were laughing and carrying on.

What can it be?

THE DOCUMENTARY WEBSITE!  If you look closely at the screen on the computer you can see they are checking out what is “NEW” on the site!  Just a note the laughing, smiling, and carrying on was even more meaningful after viewing the website.

The documentary website is through the eyes of the film director, Kevin Railsback!  It is exciting as a team member to see what he posts and how he feels about Tiffany and the CR Spirits Professional Dance Team.  He is creative, positive, trustworthy, and loves we what he does….what is funny, that is who Tiffany is!  This film is going to be GREAT!  Please follow us through this exciting fun adventure that none of us thought we would have.

Januarys Spirit Girl of the Month & Birthday Parties!

Our 1st Spirit Girl of the month is Courtney K.

Courtney is a Junior Spirit and was the 1st to receive the “Spirit Stick”.  Stop in at the studio to read where the “Spirit Stick” traveled and what this opportunity met to her.  Congratulations Courtney!

What’s New?

There is so much going on this year!  It’s hard to keep it quite.

Some “New” ideas in the studio starting in January.

A Colorful Calendar will be hanging in the studio to show the Spirit Students what is going for the month.

If one of our Spirit Students signs someone up in the CR Spirits Professional Dance Team & Studio, our Spirit Student will receive $10 off coupon.

Prom Dress Sale.  If you have a dress to sell bring it in!  Will begin collecting dresses the 2nd week of January.

The studio will be having a “Birthday Celebration Week” once a month.  No matter what day of the month your birthday is, we will celebrate it that week.

We will have a “Spirit Stick“.  Once a month a CR Spirit Student will be chosen as our Spirit Girl of the Month!  She is chosen by either her Teacher, the Spirits Staff and/or the Professional Dance Team.  During one of our staff meetings Amy Kuehl had made a remark about recognizing some of our outstanding students.  After a few months of going over ideas, the “Spirit Stick” was created.  This is  considered to be an honor and I will go over in more detail when we tell you of our first candidate.

What is going on with the Professional Team this year!

Well first I would have to say visit the documentary website!  www.escapetothemusic.com  It is an incredible site and keeps you very informed.  Kevin Railsback is very talented and I am so happy he has come into our lives.

Next it is the first week of January and Show 1 is being polished.  The Team this year is working very well together.  We have 2 “New” members but 3 “Returning” members, how nice to see those smiles again. This 1st Show is almost 12 minutes long and I would say in two weeks we move on to show 2.

Third over the holiday break I sat down and met with Tiffany Dueker who is now living in North Hollywood, CA.  When I learned in August of Tiffany moving  I approached her on a possible position with the Spirits in California.  I asked her because I trust her.  The things I would be sharing with Tiffany would be the ground work to my business.  Her outgoing personality is catchy, she is kind, and to top it off she can dance!  She believes in what I do and after visiting with her, listening to her opinion on the idea of the California Spirits, we have decided it’s a go!  We will hope to be in California during the month of March and July.  I have only dreamed of this.  I believe it will be a two to three year process but I am ready and my goals are reachable.  If you have ever heard me speak or sat in one of my lectures I truly believe never to give up and if you don’t try you will never know.  It is so much easier to speak it then actually do it but I am gonna, I have a studio full of girls that I want to show…live your dreams and reach for the stars!

Some of you have asked about my BIG 40 party in February.  It’s part a surprise and part not!  I do know that we are inviting Spirit Students/Parents and Former Spirit Student/Parents.  There will be some Former Professional Team Members as well also some of our Spirit Sponsors and Business Partners.  The Professional Dance Team will be performing a couple of times during the evening.  So look for your invitation coming in February!

Hope you are all just as excited as I am to see the “New” Adventures come to Life!

Spirit Staff

Well a few of you have asked what the Spirit Staff was doing in City Looks at Westdale Mall.

It was our Christmas Party!  We had a wonderful time.  Crystal Kuehl (Tiny Instructor), Heather Miller (AdministratorAssistant), Tiffany Kuehl (Owner/Choreographer), Kaitlin Boyse (Li’l Instructor), Amy Kuehl (Junior Instructor) and Shannon Debner (Itty-Bitty Instructor) it was nice to be together, enjoy each others company, relax and talk about the new things going on in the studio for 2010!
