What does it take to be a CR Spirit Professional Dancer?

What type of time commitment is required if chosen for the CR Spirits? TOTAL COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED! A CR Spirit’s schedule gets busier each year! We do have a write-off book; however you only can have 8 unexcused practices and performances.

  • Practice each Wednesday from 6:30-9:30pm.
  • Performances and Appearances that are scheduled.

How many dancers are you looking for? There is no specific number.

Is being a CR Spirit a full-time job? No, you must hold at least a part-time job or attend college.

Do you consider being a mother a full-time job? YES!

Are there any height and/or weight requirements? This is a big factor, you should look well proportioned, but we have no set limits. We do NOT have a minimum or maximum height/weight requirement.

Are there any age requirements? You must be at least 18. As far a maximum age, there is NO limit. Ages of recent dancers have ranged from 19 to 43.

How should I wear my hair? Please arrive with a performance-ready hairstyle that compliments your features.

How should I wear my make-up? Performance-ready make-up, which compliments your features.

What should I wear to auditions? Wear dance and aerobic attire and comfortable shoes. No baggy T-shirts.

What do I need to bring to auditions? Please bring a Drivers license. Maybe even something to drink and eat.

Do I have to come to auditions with a choreographed routine or is one provided at the auditions?Sometimes there is more than one routine provided at the auditions.  You do not provide a routine.

How will I know if my application was received? You will receive a postcard by mail, stating that your application was processed. If you do not receive a postcard, please wait one week prior to auditions before calling the studio.

How long will the auditions last? The auditions will begin promptly at 6pm. They will run until the final team is chosen. Length of auditions will depend on the number of applicants.

Can my family/friends watch auditions? YES, the auditions are open to the public.

If I am not selected, will my application be kept on file? NO, you must re-apply.

If I am not selected as a CR Spirit, will I be able to obtain my judges comments? NO, Tiffany’s decisions are final and comments are confidential.

What is expected of me if I make it to finals? We will go over the expectations of the team at the first meeting after auditions.
